METHODOLOGY

Knowledge + Faith + Action = Courage Knowledge + Faith + Action = Courage

For over 25 years, we’ve studied why some teams break through and others stay stuck, scared, stale or safe. It’s not due to talent, budget, or timing. It’s a formula. And we’ve spent a career refining it. Every mission, keynote, workshop or offsite we run is built on the same three-part system.

Courage is not the same
thing as change

Most change frameworks stop at “change.” Ours doesn’t, because change isn’t the hard part, sustaining it is. You can’t be courageous when you’re cloudy, and you can’t stay changed without the belief to back it up. Our system is built to produce courage first, because courage is what survives after the initiative ends and the next hard thing shows up.

KNOWLEDGE

Confronting the fears others avoid

Every engagement starts here with diagnosis, not a workshop. We get to the root of what’s actually keeping your team stuck, scared, stale, or safe through employee surveys, leadership interviews, and honest conversations most teams have been avoiding for years. Along the way, we establish your organization’s Courage Rating®, a baseline for exactly where fear is holding you back, and where it isn’t. This phase is about getting clear and confronting the hard stuff, out in the open, before we build anything on top of it.

FAITH

Building belief the whole team can stand behind

Clarity alone doesn’t move people. Belief does. Once we know where the fear lives, we build the path forward and translate uncertainty into language, rally cries, values, and roadmaps your team can actually rally around. This is where a company’s mission stops being a slide in a deck and starts being something people repeat in the hallway. Courage doesn’t scale without belief, and belief doesn’t happen by accident, we build it deliberately.

ACTION

Turning belief into muscle memory

This is the step where we drive accountability with courageous checkpoints, advising, mentoring, and the upskilling that turns your people into change-agents instead of change-recipients. We tell clients upfront: this isn’t linear, there are peaks and valleys. We’re not handing you a finished product, instead we’re building a capability inside your organization that keeps working after we’ve left the room.

What it means to think,
feel, and do

Most consultants are in the business of making you think. That’s not nothing, but it’s not enough to move an entire organization. Our system is built to get you to think, then feel, then do. Knowledge builds the thinking, faith builds the feeling, and action builds the doing. Skip a step and the change doesn’t hold because you get a team that understands the problem but never actually moves to solve it.

COURAGE RATING

You can’t climb what you can’t see.

Every organization is somewhere on the mountain, our Courage Rating shows you exactly where. Some challenges are beginner slopes. Others are black diamonds. Knowing the difference is how you know what kind of changes to make first.

how it works

We diagnose your organization’s real challenges. Then we map them to beginner, intermediate, or advanced.

Not every fear takes the same courage to face. Some just take a first step. Others take the whole team, roped in together.

BEGINNER

INTERMEDIATE

ADVANCED

INTERMEDIATE

The Courage Rating gives you a clear read on both. What’s manageable now, what’s going to take real commitment, and what order to climb them in. It’s not a score you pass or fail, it’s a map that leads the way. And once you can see the mountain, you can start climbing it.

The Road to Courage

MANY MISSIONS RUN BEYOND A YEAR BECAUSE COURAGE IS A MUSCLE YOU KEEP TRAINING, NOT A MILESTONE YOU HIT. A TYPICAL ENGAGEMENT MOVES THROUGH THREE PHASES.

PHASE 1

Clarity & Direction

Deep discovery, alignment at the leadership level, and the keynotes and roadmap that set the direction. Focus: confronting what’s real and getting clear.

PHASE 2

Belief Muscle

A clear message, real accountability at the leadership level, and the work of inspiring the broader team. Focus: building consistency and commitment.

PHASE 3

Growth & Accountability

Training courageous leaders, self-reflection, and execution against the values, rally cry, and mission we built together. Focus: instilling confidence and the courage to keep going without us.

Most of our partnerships run well past a year, because courage is a muscle you keep training, not a milestone you hit.

The proof is in the process

Kohl’s ran this system and saw its best comparable sales performance in four years. Kraft Heinz ran it and landed on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list for the first time for six years running. Harrah’s ran it and grew revenue 20% in year one.
